A few days ago, I was invited to an art exhibition and am grateful to the organizers for the invitation, and the opportunity to appreciate such excellent works of art.

Art is inspired by our lives. Many of our local art work combine Malaysian culture and the painter’s unique perspective to create pieces that are uniquely Malaysian.

I purchased the painting by famous local artist Badariah Abdul Hamid at the exhibition, titled “Celestial Heaven”. Proceeds from the purchase go to the Rohingya Charity Fund.

It is worth mentioning that the work was originally a gift to the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, who was a VIP guest at the exhibition.

Since Malaysia has banned government officials from receiving gifts, DS Saifuddin decided to donate the painting for auction, and directing the proceeds to Rohingya refugees. I greatly appreciate this policy and appreciate the integrity of DS Saifuddin!

Lastly, I sincerely wish the excellent work of Malaysian artists can be seen by the world and shine on the international stage!
